As a setter, he often isn't the one landing the offensive spikes- instead he's the one that give his team the set up to attack.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Sacrifice. Oikawa's often been said to have a bad personality because of this little habit of his, and even his teammates in canon have mentioned it: He tends to look at someone and is able to pick out their weakness and exploit them. And naturally, as a setter, he's the one who draws his team's potential out the greatest so they can do their best offensive wise. He's got his own tricks up his sleeve and nails a lot of points himself, but his place is absolutely at the head of the operation in deciding when and where they should strike.

Other: He's got natural athletic abilities, has an incredible amount of focus, and is very observational.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Fighter, Nagisa isn't very good at calculating moves he is more impulsive and relies on his feelings to guide him. Because of this he is suited more for the role of a fighter better as a character. AU History: Jeremie grew up with his parents in a Parisian suburb in France, transferring at the start of junior high to an international boarding school in Japan as part of a foreign exchange program. Jeremie, an academic genius with a special interest in robotics and computer science, had few compunctions about rule-breaking, and snuck out of school one night to rummage through an abandoned factory for scrap and parts. Instead he found a decade-old server for the Japanese MMORPG Wisdom Resurrection, and a digital diary full of encrypted notes that one of the game’s early developers had left behind. In the process of decrypting these notes, Jeremie ended up connecting the diary’s contents to an amnesiac girl his own age nicknamed “Maya”—a Wisdom Resurrection player with no known family and no memory of her previous life. Maya’s only clue to the developer’s intentions came in the form of a special, unauthorized Wisdom Resurrection account coded to her real name, which gave her special access to information deliberately hidden in the MMO’s beta servers years ago for her to find. Jeremie promised to help Maya uncover this data and keep her mystery a secret, collaborating online over the course of two years to find a world full of baffling information surrounding the organization the developer had worked for prior to his stint on Wisdom Resurrection. At first, Jeremie was understandably skeptical of the existence of so-called “Fighter/Sacrifice” pairs, ZEROs, and Word Spell battles, all of which the scientist had described at length within his diary. However, the more Jeremie uncovered inside the game, the more he realized that the information he was finding was based in reality and had been hidden away for a reason—the organization responsible for compiling the data in the first place had made anyone working against it disappear, including the developer who wrote the diary and possibly Maya’s mother. Though Jeremie was determined to help his friend decode the secrets she’d inherited at all costs, he understood the importance of secrecy to their work and that both her life and his could be in serious danger if he wasn’t diligent about covering his tracks on the web. That responsibility would have been daunting enough, without factoring in the unexpected changes in Jeremie’s own body and the arrival of an email from an unknown Wisdom Resurrection player called ‘OUTLIER...’

Fighter/Sacrifice: Sacrifice. Jeremie falls naturally into the role of strategist, laying out plans of attack and directions for others to follow. In a combat setting, he is all but useless on the front lines, preferring instead to man the troops and provide support from behind the relative safety of a keyboard or monitor. Jeremie relies heavily on his friends for protection, and the manpower he needs to execute his ideas, while they in turn are virtually blind and hard-pressed to coordinate their own efforts without him. Jeremie is also stubborn and driven in personality, nearly to the point of obsession, and has proven time and time again that he’s willing to risk quite a lot if it stands a chance of gaining him a means to further his own goals.

AU History: To put it simply, Lucky Penny is the ongoing (mis)adventures of the titular Penny as she tries to become an adult. To put it bluntly, it's not going too well. She works in a laundromat (having been fired from her job setting up mannequins at a department store) and lives in a self storage unit (having had to move from an actual apartment due to being fired). But she has Boyfriend (a female calico cat), and a possible boyfriend (Walter, who works at the gym that she showers at) so it's good. Ironically, Penny herself is super unlucky. She blames her neck tattoo for cursing her, but time will tell if that's the case....

How does this all fit in the AU? Well here's the rough breakdown:
‣ Penny is now not cursed! But she is still generally klutzy and prone to accident and misfortune
‣ Works as an assistant language teacher at a public middle school in Osaka (through the JET program)
‣ Penny will be "aged up" to reflect having graduated college (degree - Independent Studies)
‣ Ears no, tattoo yes (much concealer. very turtleneck. wow)

Fighter/Sacrifice: Fighter. Penny is most likely to take the direct approach when confronted with something (need a new place? - (illegally) rent your friend's storage unit!, kids trying to break into said unit? - attempt to beat them up with an umbrella). She's quick-witted, which will serve her well as a fighter. However, she's pretty aimless, and benefits heavily from the support and approval of others.

Canon: Pokémon Special

AU History: In canon, Silver is kidnapped from his dad (who's the leader of Team Rocket) along with around five other children by some crazy old guy named Pryce that wants to make them perfect trainers that can help him with his mission to catch a legendary Pokémon and control time, then escapes with one of the other kids (Blue) and the two of them try to survive in a world that isn't very welcoming to two kids down on their luck like them.

In a more modern and normal world, well. There's child services, at least.

His dad runs the Yakuza, which makes him the kind of important heir. He gets kidnapped by some crazy old guy along with Blue and some other kids as a toddler, he and Blue manage to eventually escape, and the two of them spend a couple of weeks begging on the streets and stealing from people before they finally get taken to child services and spend a good majority of their lives going from foster home to foster home.

Naturally, jumping from home to home after a less than pleasant life until this time isn't the best environment to pick up any healthy habits, so Silver enjoys things like falling asleep in class, picking fights, biting people that make him angry enough, and not really caring about or talking to anyone but Blue, because why does it matter if Blue's the only one that's going to be there for more than a couple of months at best anyway?

Recently his life has encountered a few changes he's less than happy about- Blue's now eighteen, so- as Silver would put it- "no one cares about her anymore", and he's a first year in high school... At least he only has to spend a few more years hopping from home to home before they stop pretending to care about him too.

(There is no way this loser is ever losing his ears.)

Fighter/Sacrifice: Sacrifice. Silver in canon and by extension this AU isn't particularly wordy or articulate, but he's also filled with strong passionate determination when he sets his mind on something he wants to do. He's strong willed, stubborn, persistent, and enduring, and he'll be a good sacrifice... Provided that a fighter is patient enough to deal with him, because he's also kind of a sketchy asshole.

Zero?: Nope!

Other: Animal friends! Silver's always loved animals and every time people try to take pets away from them they get bitten, so he's been allowed to keep one pet with him in his trips to foster homes his whole life. His pet when he was a baby was a ferret, at around nine he had an older dog follow him home, a couple of years ago he experienced the fun of getting a rabies vaccine when he brought back a baby fox (and ever since then, he's been telling new foster parents that a fox taught him how to talk to trees...)

Recently, he found a pet kitten in a box and has since trained it to sleep in his clothes during class so it can go everywhere with him and not get taken away.

Name: Fractured Milla Maxwell (or, in this game, Mimi Maxwell -- refer downwards for notes on that)

Canon: Tales of Xillia 2

AU History: In canon, Milla's from a Fractured Dimension -- basically what the game refers to when it's talking about canon divergence AUs. While normally this might not make for a compelling "this isn't a duplicate character" case (in the case anyone ever decides to app the original Milla Maxwell, ahaha), the game itself is very firm in reinforcing the idea that Fractured Milla and the Milla of the Prime Dimension (think of an alpha timeline) are not the same person. They might have some things that are incredibly similar about them, such as their dedication and their frankness, but they're very different characters. It's because Fractured Milla grew up having the Great Spirit Muzét around instead and defeated Exodus with her, allowing her to step down as Maxwell in her dimension and grow up amongst humans instead of staying inside her shrine simply reading books about humans like Prime Milla did.

In this AU, they're simply twin sisters (with bonus older sister Muzét); Fractured Milla, or "Mimi" as she'll be referred to here, has kind of felt like she's always lived in her twin's shadow. Milla's so great and Milla's so popular and Milla this, Milla that -- it frustrated her, and her fairly snide and abrasive personality didn't help her win any points with pretty much anyone. At least things seemed to look up when she was accepted into a fairly nice college and got to get away from all of that, at the expense of having to live in a city instead of the quieter countryside.

Not that it helped her attitude any. Two years later, she's only a little better at not being a complete ass to people - and she definitely takes it easier on people who don't know of her either of her sisters - and finds a greater joy in working with children and cooking than pretty much anything else. Until she gets an email for some dumb MMO she's heard some of her younger classmates talking about and gets pulled into a brand new world, that is.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Fighter. She's headstrong and stubborn and tends to think fight instead of flee when it comes to confrontations -- but she's by no means someone who's "brawn over brains." She just prefers picking at her own metaphorical scabs and, honestly, she could probably benefit from relying on someone.
Zero?: Nah

Other: Her only powers in-canon come in the form of physical artes (slash attacks, aka "just being really good with a sword") and spirit artes (magic). She also has a special ability when you link with her in battle called "Bind," which does just as its name implies: for a few seconds, the enemy's frozen in place by magic bonds.

Not exactly thinking she'll keep any of those -- there's sure to be equivalents in Wisdom Resurrection, being an MMORPG -- so I'll end this on the note that she's actually a pretty good cook. Not restaurant-level or anything, but definitely better than "above average," and it's probably one of her top interests.

Canon: Persona 3

AU History: Minato's life was never really all that good of one. At a young age, Minato's parents had their lives taken from them, and hence, his happiness was taken from him in return. It was then that he bounced around houses, be it with relatives or foster homes. As a result, he never really found much of a meaning behind bonds or friendships with people, due to the fact that he was never around for long enough to actually form them properly.

So instead, Minato preferred to keep to himself. The most interaction he really had with anyone was when he played the MMO, Wisdom Resurrection, and went to school. It was a pretty normal life, aside from how often he moved around, before he finally settled on his current school, living alone. Even then, loneliness does set in pretty quickly. Lately, he started to find ways to make himself more appealing. He's been studying more, trying to put himself more out there, reading books on how to flirt and popular pick up lines...

... So why did he feel so strange? Wasn't this supposed to make him feel better? He wasn't sure himself, but he noticed how he didn't feel the chill that everyone around him seemed to feel. When someone would sweat because the heater was turned on too high, he didn't feel a thing either. And now, after all of this happening, he suddenly got an email from some weirdo, asking him to join a private server. None of this really seemed to have anything to do with the spin he put on his life style...

But what did he really have to lose, anyway?

Fighter/Sacrifice: Fighter. While Minato in canon is more of a silent protagonist, and even if this Minato isn't all too talkative either, he has been wanting to put himself out more often with people in this universe. Hence, having to speak up in a battle would be a good way to warm him up to having to speak out, even if at first, he finds it somewhat of a pain.
Zero?: Minato is shown to have the ability of the "Wild Card" in Persona 3. What this means is, in simplest terms, he can summon multiple persona. This is much different than the other persona users, as they can only summon one. The only ones with this power in the series are the protagonists from P3 and P4, who are all of the Fool Arcana. Since the Fool arcana is shown as "empty", he is much like the number zero itself.

AU History: Ludger is just an unlucky guy that can't catch a break. First, he's in debt because of his college tuition, and now he's paying off medical bills from some accident that he can barely even remember. But all things considered... his situation could be much, much worse. Like if he didn't have his brother Julius around to help him out.

Granted, being brothers with Julius also had its share of problems. Julius was respected, had a nice paying job, and the rest of his life really seemed like it was going good for him. It wasn't a surprise that people were interested in him, yet it still hurt just as much when Ludger's crush ended up liking Julius instead, and the whole thing being a huge embarrassing mess.

But Ludger still loves his brother. Julius even set him up with a nice, somewhat comforting job as a chef at a restaurant. Granted, Ludger was still disappointed that he didn't get a job at the place where Julius works, especially with how well it paid, but honestly... he could be worse off.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Sacrifice. Even in canon, outside of the skits, Ludger doesn't really speak up much. He's much more prone to letting out quick little responses to people, instead of starting a full on conversation. Plus, he's prone to throwing tantrums like a brat sometimes, and should really be put in his place and not really in a more leaderish spot.

Canon: Fire Emblem: Awakening

AU History: ~~nerd~~ Since an incredibly young age, Laurent has had an insatiable thirst for knowledge. As soon as he could walk and talk, he started babbling about all of his "scientific discoveries". Mother, it appears this insect goes through a process of change. Father, look - if I add baking soda to vinegar, there is a reaction. While curious about practically everything under the sun, it was clear he'd end up in the sciences.

In high school, in addition to being near or at the top of his class, he became involved in the student council during his first year as a member of a committee. It was then he found out his lesser (but still important) drive for order and organization- he climbed up the chain of command for the next two years, moving to treasurer and then president.

Once he graduated from high school, he moved away from his parents and moved to Tokyo to attend Tokyo University of Science and study chemistry. He's currently in his first year and lives in an apartment by himself, tutoring others to help pay for his bills.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Sacrifice. Laurent's biggest strength is his ability to perceive subtle things very quickly, and to draw logical conclusions from little information - in various support and DLC conversations, he solves his friends' problems through observation and intuition. He says himself, in canon, that "[he] [considers] it [his] role to monitor this army's condition and aid in its preservation", and that "perspicacity and analysis are the only things [he] [has] to offer." With that in mind, he would really thrive in the role of the Sacrifice.
Zero?: n/a

Other: • In canon, he's able to use magic via incantations and spell books. But this was something that he had to study a lot to achieve in his canon setting, so this will not carry over.
• Laurent has an established canon mother, but not a father - I will be leaving this vague for the sake of future castmates.

AU History: In her youth, Hilda grew up with both of her parents in New York. Her mother was Japanese, and her father was the New Yorker - hence her western first name. She was fairly friendly and well-adjusted, but her father eventually divorced his wife. Her mother returned home to Japan, and Hilda spent the rest of her years growing up in a Japanese neighborhood and with a few friendly neighbors. She was, as most children of divorced parents are, less stable growing up and had some issues with authority figures. However, she turned her focus from regular brawling to proper boxing, trying to get into professional leagues even though she's currently still in school.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Sacrifice. Though she's scrappy and quick to fight, she's also very strategic and prefers the agency to make her own decisions... even if she also is just as quick to drag someone else along on her schemes and make them listen to her.
Zero?: Yes. Aside from it being rather interesting to play with, Hilda in canon was a special case, a Hero chosen by dragons - it makes sense that she'd be some sort of strange special exception in this iteration, as well, even if it's not quite as glamorous.

Other: She has a pet pig named "It's Bacon", or Bacon for short.

AU History: Here. Tsukiko currently works as an artist and has some notoriety as the creator of the popular character, Maromi, a cartoon dog that's quickly become a contemporary cultural icon of Japan in the vein of Hello Kitty, Pikachu, Bugs Bunny (in America), etc. Maromi is a household name, with dolls and merchandise for the character on shelves and and an anime series in the early stages of production. Tsukiko herself is not publicly well-known, but she has a small but devoted fan base that she communicates with via a personal website/message board.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Fighter. Personality-wise, Tsukiko is far more passive than confrontational or straightforward, at least on the surface. However, despite her instinct to avoid reality at all costs and the consequences of her actions (or, perhaps, because of it), Tsukiko has a powerfully creative imagination, both as an artist and a spinner of lies and stories that she herself is able to believe. Tsukiko may be a something of a loner, but she also has shown a strong desire to have some kind of figure in her life that she can latch onto for reassurance and protection instead of having to fend for herself. Additionally, her grip on reality and her surroundings tends be shaky at best, even in critical circumstances, meaning Tsukiko very much lacks the necessary perception to be a Sacrifice.

Zero?: No.

Other: Tsukiko's canon power includes the ability to shift reality to suit her own paranoid, desperate delusions. For example, she frequently imagines her stuffed toy, Maromi, coming to life to talk to her and soothe her about her problems. Her imaginings are so powerful that others can eventually see and be effected by them, culminating in a supernatural disaster that threatens to level Musashino.

As far as AU/Wordspell goes, most of Tsukiko's paranormal ability to impact others with her imagination would be limited to manifestations in Word Spell battles. However, in ordinary life, she may still be able to use magic unconsciously to tweak her surroundings in very subtle, very subjective ways, in moments where she feels threatened. These shifts would be very minor and mainly designed to make other characters second-guess themselves subconsciously—for instance, during a conversation with Tsukiko, a character may notice that a doll she is holding appears to be looking in opposite directions between first and second glance. The change is only in perception but subtle enough to imbalance the other person, while leaving them uncertain that anything actually happened.

Said rich couple actually consisted of a man and a man crossdressing as a woman in order to legally adopt her. For the past five years she's been groomed into the heir of her adoptive parent's shipping company. As weird as her adoptive family is, she's grateful to them for taking her in.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Fighter. She thinks very quickly on her feet and when put under pressure leaps to decisions decisively. The word "hesitate" just isn't in her dictionary.

Name: Kurosaki Hisoka

AU History: Hisoka has been brought up in a very tradition-oriented family. His parents, fearing and despising the spiritual powers their heir displayed, locked him in the cellar whenever he used them even if he had no control over them. They kept him from contact with the outside world, seeing him as someone who could reveal important affairs and secrets about the family, and privately taught him at home.

At the age of 13, Hisoka managed to run away from home but came across a scene in which a man brutally murdered a woman in the middle of the night. Having seen everything, he was raped and beaten, left to die there to erase the only witness. Fortunately he was saved and brought back home, however he has little happiness there among an unloving, abusive family.

Being so sheltered hasn't helped with his health, which is particularly bad, as shown by his weak immune system that makes him have a frail body, high susceptibility to heat, and tendency to faint. Hisoka is also prone to panic attacks when in crowded places thanks to his empathic abilities.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Sacrifice. Even though Hisoka is very frail, he is incredibly strong-willed and intelligent, and being an empath helps him be able to understand and read people very well. He's the type to quietly sit back and observe people, though it often makes him appear like the lost, distant boy he really is.
Zero?: No

Other: Hisoka is an empath, who has the ability to feel what other people are feeling and read their thoughts but only if he comes in physical contact (mainly skin to skin) or if the emotions someone is feeling are very strong. This is why he avoids touching people and hates crowds. Thanks to the traditions of his family, he has been trained in martial arts, but is best at kendo and archery.

AU History: The Bielefelt family comes from a proud line of historic families in Germany, aligned with other families and powerful industries that reach from Switzerland to Japan. One Japanese family in particular caught the attention of one business' boss, Bob, and Wolfram had the unfortunate pleasure of having to attend their office meeting, when the Japanese employee brought his two sons to discuss a potential future with the elder one.

The younger one, however, botched his German so badly that a simple greeting turned into an ill-translated love confession to Wolfram. The worst part was that Wolfram's mother and brothers appeared all too amused by it, and the younger son was too confused by it to take it all back before he left (what do you mean he didn't just say hello?).

But Wolfram doesn't let go of unfortunate incidents easily, and it was just insulting how this Yuuri boy fumbled on his own home language. Wolfram knew he could do a million times better with Japanese, so why not study in Japan and prove so? But really, he only went with it due to his mother's suggestion, and completely not because he can't get that irritating boy out of his mind...

Fighter/Sacrifice: Fighter. Wolfram will step forth and battle for anything he truly believes in, usually hotheadedly and recklessly. It'd serve him well to have a Sacrifice guide him - that is, if Wolfram chooses to listen.

Other: He attends a German-Japanese school in Yokohama and has a strange talent of appearing next to Yuuri when he least asks for it.

Though he's tuned in quite finely to Oikawa, he is only tuned in to him, whereas Oikawa has more awareness of the whole team, making Iwaizumi a more natural follower for an individual. He states his mind and makes decisions, but it's Oikawa that enables him to act as an Ace.

AU History: Naruto didn't know much about his parents. Growing up, bouncing around from different homes, he couldn't wait until the day where he was independent from all of them. That's why, even with as hard as the entrance exams and general requirements for the school he picked, he managed to get accepted and attend school away from the families he was stuck with.

Which was a good development for his growing ambition, to become the souban of all of Japan. At the school, Naruto was quick to get into fights with the other students, forming a rivalry with one of the more popular guys in the class, Sasuke, and defended his turf and other students from the rival gangs in the area.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Sacrifice. Naruto is someone more suited for taking hits. While he would love to dish them out as well, the fact that he's more brute force than someone who would put any thought into a fight would not make him a very good Fighter.

AU Adélie's history follows similarly to her canon history, minus being an alien. She was raised by a single mom, she doesn't know who or where her dad is. They moved around a lot, her mother being on the run from some "bad people" as she always described them to Adélie. Then one day her mom got sick and died, leaving Adélie an orphan. Now she's in the system, currently she is living in a children's group home outside of Tokyo. She remembers having met a grandfather once, but there hasn't been any luck in tracking him down.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Sacrifice - Adélie has a firm grasp on tactics and strategy, she knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it. Also, she is not particularly talkative, or good at expressing her emotions.

Zero?: No.

Other: Adélie's alien power is to transport someone's consciousness into a doll (namely the stuffed penguin she carries around everywhere). I'm thinking that this will best translate as an ability that the witch has in Wisdom Resurrection. Also, the penguin character (named Penguini) itself is a popular character in Japan, and was made by M&F (the same company that Tsukiko works for - this has been cleared with her player).

The Shibuya family is a part of a society - Yuuri's father worked closely with "Bob" and it was decided that one of the Shibuya sons would follow in Bob's footsteps. Though Yuuri's brother Shori was more promising, Yuuri still attended meetings. During one of the meetings, Yuuri encountered Wolfram and his family. He had been taught some German, and attempted to greet the kid that was his age properly.

No one knows how the intended "It's nice to meet you, I hope we can be friends" morphed into a mutilated "that's a beautiful you, stay together with me forever". But somehow, he managed it, and he didn't understand the laughing and cooing from the adults regarding his statement.

But that was the last he saw of the German speakers for years, when their family moved back to Japan and Yuuri went back to playing baseball. At least, until a certain German family moved in not that far away...

Fighter/Sacrifice: Sacrifice. Yuuri has a lot of drive and has very high ideals, and despite any griping he may have, he often is willing to take charge. He has a high moral code, and he holds others to that standard.

Other: Yuuri does speak some German. He is literally worse than Babelfish, however. It's truly fascinating just how badly he fails.

AU History: In a small town outside the busy bubble of Tokyo, three kids grew up together exploring hidden caves and thick forests, dreaming of something far bigger out there to see. They shared everything at first, including video games that the proud Green Oak brought over to show his skills at mashing buttons.

Except that loser Red also got pretty good at them. And okay, Leaf was good too, but Red being that good was the irritating part. Older age separated them further, with a few too many pushes and shoves finally breaking them out of all their childhood dreams. Red would go on to take Green's dream of being strong enough to compete yet never go anywhere with it, and Green would go on towards the western side of Tokyo for secondary school to find something worth chasing after. Having a well-known scientist grandfather tends to put a lot of pressure on deciding what to do with himself.

He still keeps up with the third friend, Leaf, fairly closely, but he hasn't seen Red in a few years. Sometimes he wonders how he's doing, or what he's up to, but Green keeps himself busy enough in school to not worry about lame things. He still dabbles in video games (because he's still amazing at them, thank you), and is even pretty good in kendo club. It's nice to be out in the big city on his own, but there's still something missing here...

Fighter/Sacrifice: Sacrifice. While his hotheaded attitude might make people initially see him as a Fighter, his stubborn, strong will makes him an incredibly valuable Sacrifice. He's not the type to give up easily, no matter what he must suffer through to achieve his goals - and for a reckless boy like him, maybe he needs other people to help him realize his dreams in the background.

AU History: Red - a nickname he's had since he was young - comes from a rather normal Japanese family, with a father who works the common salary man job and a mostly stay-at-home mother who works some part time shifts.

Actually I know crap about the Normal Japanese Family, so who knows why I started like that. His life has always been simple; he grew up in a small town as a energetic and noisy kid with interests in most things, always curious to try out more and want more. What kid didn't? And with his two best friends, it always seemed like the world was vast and huge just by the woods outside that they played in and also the games inside their bedrooms.

It was with those games in particular though that competition grew between the three. They all wanted to be the best. Red started off slow, but with time he started to get the hang of things - it helped that Green's show-off way enticed him to get better. But it was during those times that the friendship between the two grew sour - Leaf wasn't as bitter as Green would get if he won, and in the end the perfect friendship between the three broke apart with Leaf in the middle.

Green ended up moving away and Red continued to play games to the point that he was even able to enter tournaments with actual prize money. It never went anywhere though, with videogames not holding the spark for him. Sure he kept playing them, and played them excellently, but soon boredom would settle in and the game that had his full attention for weeks would be forgotten.

And then there was school. Growing up. The realisation - or acceptance - that life wasn't going to be like he had dreamed as a kid full of adventure. He attends classes, goes to kendo club, and then whatever else comes along to do. He doesn't socialise as much as he could, not having a large interest in it or in much else. Life is pretty boring, guys.

Really boring.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Fighter. In canon, Red plays a similar role as Fighters do. Trainers don't directly attack, but they are the ones that command the attacks, guiding a battle as the pokémon endures the physical abuse from opponents (letting others get hurt for them is a Thing). A Trainer gives their all to their pokémon - as if there was no pokémon, there would be no Trainer.

As a Fighter Red would be willing to give to his Sacrifice as he can, and will also have that determination to become better as a Fighter as well, both through his own competitive nature and also so not to make his Sacrifice suffer more than they have to. He's willing to work with others as a team, and especially with a select few.

AU History: Leaf grew up in the outskirts of Tokyo with her mom, her dad, and her huge imagination. As a kid, she was super best friends with these two boys, Red and Green, and they had tons of 'adventures' together in their little backyards. They would spend almost all their time together, from sunrise to sunset, playing tag, cops and robbers, and most importantly, video games. She loved them dearly, and she was convinced with all of her young heart that they would always be friends forever.

And then Red said something to Green, and Green did something to Red. There was a fight, and Leaf thought they'd just pick up the pieces and move on like they always did. Except that time, they refused to talk to each other, for some reason. And then Green actually did have to pick up his things and move away, and Leaf was left wondering why she ever thought these boys were cool.

As she grew older, she got more and more popular until she had amassed a following at her school, but her best friends were still Red and Green (though neither of them knew that she still talked to the other). And she might have had a hand in convincing them both to join the kendo club in their respective schools. Who knows?

Most of her time is spent nowadays flirting with boys and girls alike, beating up people in video games, and trying to get Red and Green to kiss and make up. Because seriously, boys.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Leaf is a Fighter to her core. Competitive, reactive, and very emotional, she's quick to make decisions and boy, does she have a temper. She's also incredibly loyal to those who are her friends, though she's picky about who she lets close to her.

AU History: Like in canon, he's had a pretty good childhood. Has lived nearby Osaka all his life - his town's not that far from it or the city of Nara, actually, though it's a bit closer to the latter - and his mom works with the animals of the Tennouji Zoo there as a veterinarian. Needless to say, Gold's picked up a pretty bad habit of taking strays home because he can afford it with his well off lifestyle.

It's the kind of "well off" that has a small number of servants that call him "Young Master" and enough allowance to be able to go to farther places by himself if he wants, because his mom trusts him a lot more than she probably should.

Gold used to go to an all boys private school, but started going to public school starting this year. Mostly because he wanted to actually be able to meet girls. Girls are great, you know? Yeah. And the uniforms look great on them. Real form fitting. Nicely rolled up. Fantastic choice in ribbons.

Anyway, he's had a pretty normal life so far. Plenty of friends, pretty popular for his laid back, outgoing personality and antics... Other than getting warned for carrying matches around, it's been fine. Doesn't skip school all that much but tends to skip classes he doesn't care about, is part of the Going Home Club and doesn't particularly have any plans for after graduation. It's whatever. He'll wing it.

Fighter/Sacrifice: Fighter. He's quick to jump into pretty much anything and doesn't hesitate to speak up, and he's got a hell of a way with words. His decisions may seem emotionally impulsive, but they're just honest and reckless in a way that's almost admirable. Gold's the kind of boy who wants to be in the action rather than sitting on the sidelines. That kind of thing frustrates him.
